संविधानसभाः शुन्य उपलब्धि र अनिश्चित भविष्य

२०६५ साल जेठ १५ गते । नेपालको इतिहासमा ६ दशकदेखिको अनवरत संघर्ष त्याग र बलिदानपछि प्राप्त भएको संविधानसभाको पहिलो बैठक बस्दै थियो । यो बैठक किन महत्वपुर्ण थियो भने यसले देशलाई एउटा सर्वथा नयाँ युगमा प्रवेश गराउँदै थियोः संविधानतः सोही दिनको बैठकबाट गणतन्त्र घोषणा हुँदै थियो । निर्वाचनमा राप्रपा नेपालबाहेक अरु सबै दलले गणतन्त्रको नारा लिएर जनतामा गएकाले गणतन्त्र घोषणा हुने लगभग निश्चित थियो । तर नेपालको राजनीति कहिल्यै पनि सोझो रेखामा नहिँड्ने गरेकोले जनतामा एउटा आशंका व्याप्त थियो - कतै गणतन्त्रको आकाँक्षालाई नेताहरुले व्यक्तिगत वा दलगत स्वार्थसित साट्ने पो हुन् कि!

Prof. Kharel is the new chief of Central Department of JMC, TU

Professor P. Kharel has been appointed the chief of Central Department of Journalism and Mass Communications at Tribhuvan University for four years. Kharel took charge of his office on May 27 amid a function at Ratna Rajya Laxmi Campus.

Talking to MediaManch after assuming the post, Prof. Kharel briefly outlined his vision for the next four years. He said he will work to further enhance the quality of mass communication and journalism education in the country. "For that", he added, "my prime focus will be on revising course and introducing more comprehensive class assignments and practical exams."

Rupert Murdoch retreats from TV news business in India

Media Moghul Rupert Murdoch's company has withdrawn its stake from TV news business in India. It has sold all its stakes in three news channels: Star News (Hindi), Star Ananda (Bengali) and Star Majha (Marathi) to Ananda Bazaar Patrika Group, the other owners of the joint venture.

After Murdoch's Star India's sale of stakes, Star News is coming up as ABP News from June 1, 2012; ABP for Ananda Bazaar Patrika. Similarly, Bengali news channel Star Ananda would be ABP Ananda and Marathi news channel Star Majha would be ABP Majha.

मे ८ का दिन ट्वीटरमा नेपालीहरुबिच संघीयताको पक्ष र विपक्षमा महत्वपुर्ण बहस भयो । संघीयताको पक्ष र विपक्ष दुवैतर्फ जबर्जस्त तर्कहरु छन् । केही तर्कहरु यहाँ साभार गरिएका छन् । यसले के देखाउँछ भने संघीयताबारे राम्रोसँग जनतालाई बुझाउन र बिश्वासमा लिन नेताहरुले सकेका छैनन् । थप बहस जरुरी छ । यो बहसमा भाग लिने सबैलाई धन्यवाद ।

Appeal to Save Amar Bahadur

Amar Bahadur Bam of Dhari  VDC Ward no. 3 in Darchula, Far Western Nepal is awaiting death following a Dubai Court's decision to execute him for his involvement in a case of murder of an Indian citizen. While available evidences show that he is innocent and didn't have any involvement in the murder, he is slapped capital punishment. 
This is shameful that the government of Nepal has done very little to protect its citizen. I request all the citizens to pressurize the government to do the needful to save its citizen's life who is found innocent but could not prove his innocence merely because of language barriers. Please use any means you have - emails, facebook, twitter or any other social media to spread the message. I think such campaigns can bring consequences because such solidarity has helped save life of Dolma and others in the past.

दीक्षान्त र सामुद्रिक यात्रा

यात्रा र जात्रामा के फरक छ ? पक्कै पनि धेरै फरक छ भन्ने लाग्नसक्छ । तर मेरो हजुरआमाले मलाई कखरा पढाउँदा 'य'लाई 'बुढो जे' भनेर पढाउनुहुन्थ्यो । 'य' 'बुढो जे' नै रहिरहेको भए यात्रा र जात्रामा केही फरक हुने थिएन । वास्तवमा मलाई सोध्नुहुन्छ भने अहिले पनि यात्रा र जात्रा एउटै हुन् । किनभने जात्रामा जुन रमाइलो हुन्छ, एकप्रकारको अनिश्चितता र भीड हुन्छ, यात्रा पनि त्यसबाट केही फरक हुँदैन । अझै यात्रा लामो छ वा बाटोमा बन्द हड्ताल परेर अड्किनुपर्यो वा गाडी बिग्रियो भने पुर्णरुपमा जात्रा नै बनिदिन्छ । यस्तै एउटा कथा टिपेर दीपक रौनियारले हाइवे भन्ने फिलिम नै बनाएका छन् । त्यसकारण मलाई पनि यात्रामा जानु जात्रा जस्तै लाग्छ र जात्रामा कम यात्रामा बढी निस्कने गर्छु ।
