George Entwistle is the new chief of BBC

After a long procedure to select a new Director for BBC, the largest public broadcaster in the world, George Entwistle has finally been named for the job. Former Newsnight editor and current controller of BBC Vision will replace Mark Thompson. 


He will oversee an organisation with more than 22,000 employees and total BBC revenues of nearly £5bn. After 23 years of service at BBC since he started as a trainee journalist, Entwistle has been elevated for the top position. He will assume the position from September.
